  • Discover the newest developments in HR products & services

  • Search out new sources and suppliers

  • Share strategies for better managing HR challenges

Do you have an enlightening or entertaining program? Are you interested in speaking for one of our monthly Chapter meetings? Bluegrass SHRM welcomes your application to provide our chapter with topics that will allow us to advance the human resources profession and the capabilities of all human resources professionals to ensure that HR is an essential and effective partner in developing and executing organizational strategy. Below are some guidelines to consider when developing a presentation for Bluegrass SHRM.

HR Credit Sessions

  • Sessions must relate directly to the SPHR & PHR Body of Knowledge and SHRM HR Competencies as it is our intention that all meetings receive SHRM Professional Development Credits and HR Certification Institute HR or Business recertification credits.
  • Sessions should be 60 minutes minimum in length.
  • Respect the BGSHRM Chapter Meeting as the sponsoring organization with either positive or neutral comments from the platform.  No direct selling should be done during your presentation.

Professional Development Sessions

Professional Development Sessions are offered to the membership to provide content on Business. To be considered a Professional Development meeting, sessions must be 2 hours in length and eligible for SHRM Professional Development Credit in addition to Business credit with the HR Certification Institute. Please refer to the SHRM Competency Model and the HR Certification Institute’s Business Credits: All you need to know document for more details.

Presenters who would like to share their areas of expertise or interest will need to complete the Speaker Proposal Packet and The Speaker Request Form and submit to the Programs Director. We plan our meetings well in advance so please provide us with dates you are available to speak. Monthly Chapter meetings are typically held the second Tuesday of the month.

Special consideration is given to programs that have been pre-approved for SHRM and HRCI recertification credit.
