Formed in 1957, the chapter is comprised of approximately 300 human resource professionals in the Lexington-Bluegrass area. College students preparing for human resource careers also participate through Student Chapter affiliation. Bluegrass SHRM AwardsBluegrass SHRM has been recognized by national SHRM as a Superior Merit chapter since 2001. To attain the Superior Merit and Merit designations, SHRM-affiliated chapters must earn points for fulfilling requirements in the areas of chapter operations, professional development of members, support for the HR profession and partnership with the Society.Bluegrass SHRM has been recognized as a community partner both locally and nationally for it's involvement in the 2007 fundraising efforts for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The chapter was awarded locally as the highest fundraiser for a small team for the "Race for the Cure" and donated a total of over $13,000 to Susan G. Komen. The chapter was recognized by national SHRM in an article on Inside SHRM. BGSHRM is committed to being a community partner. |
