The Ever Changing Environment: An Employer’s Introduction to LGBT Issues and Opportunities in the Work Place
Public discussions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) issues in the workplace were once taboo – no longer. Similarly, the open inclusion of LGBT individuals in the workplace is now commonplace in many businesses throughout the U.S. With the continued modification of attitudes employees continue to become more open about their sexual orientation and gender identities at work and co-workers are increasingly becoming more supportive of inclusive workplaces. These changes, however, are not without potential legal challenges for employers, if not appropriately addressed. Our presentation will provide you, the employer, with facts regarding the legal realities that accompany the ever evolving area of workplace LGBT issues and opportunities. Not only will you receive an up-to-date perspective on the status of the law, but you will also receive best practices recommendations to navigate the ever shifting landscape of LGBT issues. The information provided during this one hour seminar will help you and your business avoid liability related to workplace LGBT issues.
Presented by Michael Mattingly, associate member of the Labor & Employment department at Dinsmore in Lexington, KY.
