Please join Labor & Employment Attorneys Kimberly O‘Donnell, Sarah Laren, and Elizabeth Lampert as they discuss three timely issues for employers across the Bluegrass region: (1) drug testing and workplace drug policies, (2) travel time, and (3) “Bring Your Own Device to Work” Policies.
O’Donnell, Laren, and Lampert will address topics such as when employees should be drug tested, how to handle prescription drug issues on the job, and the impact of the legalization of medicinal and recreational marijuana on employers and their policies. Also included in this two-hour presentation are employer best practices for compensation of travel time and how employers should direct employees to record travel time as “hours worked” under the FLSA.
Finally, the presenters will address “Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD)” policies, which allow employees to use their personal smartphones, laptops, and tablets for work purposes. A BYOD policy can help set a business up for success—especially a small company—but there are definite downsides to consider. This presentation will provide you with practical advice to lead your organization into the New Year!
