Speakers: Alison Begor & Raymond Sexon
Description: In today's workplace, ethical challenges often arise in gray areas where policy alone isn't enough. This interactive session brings together a Chief Human Resources Officer and the Executive Director of a local Human Rights Commission for a candid conversation about where discrimination and ethical concerns are most prevalent, and what HR professionals can do to address them. Participants will gain practical insights into navigating complex situations, balancing compliance with organizational values, and fostering a culture of integrity. Real-world examples and actionable strategies will help HR leaders move beyond theory to create workplaces that uphold both human rights and ethical standards.
Learning Objectives:
1. Identify common ethical dilemmas and discrimination trends.
2. Analyze HR’s role in mitigating ethical risks and promoting fairness in workplace practices.
3. Apply SHRM ethical principles to real-world scenarios involving compliance and integrity.
4. Formulate actionable steps to address emerging ethical challenges in HR policies and decision-making.
*Approved for one (1.0) PDCs with SHRM and HRCI.

BGSHRM strives to provide quality events that are educational in content and rich in networking opportunities. We place emphasis on the humans in Human Resources and value the shared experience of our peers and comrades who are working to create safe and productive environments for their employees. We have designed chapter meeting fees to be as low as possible.
Because of rising costs in our community, your regular member registration fee covers the program related expenses and is not a fundraiser for the chapter. As such, all payments for registration to BGSHRM events are non-refundable. View full Transfer and Refund Policy.
