Engage and Inspire the Human Resources Professional to drive excellence and innovation, and to make a difference in the Community
LEIGH ALLEN, SHRM-CP
WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
What started with recruitment in 2014 blossomed into a rewarding and exciting career in Human Resources for Leigh. Since then, she has practiced the discipline in various roles at a local, national, and global level within the manufacturing industry and higher education.
Leigh earned her Bachelor’s from Miami University and is currently working on her MBA in Human Resource Management from Strayer University. She is a National SHRM member, SHRM-CP certified, and currently serving her 2-year term as Secretary of the Kentucky SHRM State Council. Previously an active member of Central Kentucky SHRM, Leigh served on the board from 2019-2021 as Certification Director, DEI Director, and Programs Director (Elect).
Leigh holds a certificate from the University of South Florida's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace program and completed SHRM's Veterans at Work Certificate program. Leigh is alumni of Miami University's Scholar Leader Community, the Walt Disney World College Program, Toastmasters International, and Lexington's Citizen's Police Academy. She is a current member of the Miami University Alumni Association and Lexington Young Professionals Association.
Leigh is a Texas native but has lived across the US and abroad. Prior to relocating to Kentucky, she worked with a humanitarian aid organization in the Middle East. In her free time, Leigh can be found exploring Lexington's food scene, cuddling her newly-adopted fur babies, or moonlighting as a TV/film extra.
