Transfer and Refund Policy

Can't make it? Would you like to transfer an upcoming registration from one event to another or can someone else from your office attend in your place? Substitutions are allowed; however, the non-member rate may apply. Requests for transfers must be made at least seven days in advance, as BGSHRM pays the venue based on the numbers of registered attendees. Please submit your request via email to communications@bgshrm.org. No refunds or transfers of fees will be made after the date of the event.

Generally, all payments for membership dues and registration to BGSHRM events are non-refundable. However, if an event must be rescheduled (i.e. severe weather in which travel is prohibited or impractical) OR you are unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. family emergency), we will apply your payment to a future event which can be requested by emailing communications@bgshrm.org. This request must be sent prior to or within 7 days of the event. Because BGSHRM pays the venue based on the numbers of registered attendees, we cannot refund you for your registration if we do not receive a cancellation request in advance.

    Virtual Workforce Workshop:
    3 Part Series - Session 1

Creating a Recovery Friendly Workplace while Upholding Zero Tolerance Policies - An HR Leader’s Technical Assistance Workshop for Battling Today’s Addiction Epidemic.

Presented by: Ashley McCarty & Sonia Osman
Business Liaisons with the KY Chamber's Workforce Center

Kentucky’s business community has become actually aware in recent years that the state’s addiction epidemic is more than a public health issue. It has become a serious workforce issue, and employers are feeling its impact firsthand. As businesses struggle to find and retain workers, the opioid crisis is making the challenges even greater for HR leaders.

Join us for part 1 of a 3 part series, to better understand how Substance Use Disorder (SUD) could be impacting your workforce, and compare your current policies and practices to today’s emerging opportunities in the areas of workplace hiring, treatment, recovery and prevention. Come learn how maintaining a drug free workplace while supporting a recovery friendly culture is not just possible, it can net positive results to the bottom line for your organization.

This training is at no cost to employers. Please contact Business Liaisons Ashley McCarty (amccarty@kychamber.com) and Sonia Osman (sosman@kychamber.com) for more information. Let’s make Kentucky a healthier place.

    3 Part Series - Session 2

R U OK? Addressing Mental Health in the Workplace

Presented by: Ashley McCarty & Sonia Osman
Business Liaisons with the KY Chamber's Workforce Center

Mental health awareness has reached an inflection point. According to the National Institute of Mental Health, 1 in 5 adults reported a mental health issue in 2016.

As a Kentucky business, does your culture reduce stigma and empower your employees to have conversations surrounding mental health? This is more than a public health topic; it is a workplace topic.

Please join us for part 2 of a 3 part series! The Kentucky Chamber Workforce Center has created a mental health session for employers. The training will assist in how to name, normalize, and navigate mental health in the workplace.

This training is at no cost to employers. Please contact Business Liaisons Ashley McCarty (amccarty@kychamber.com) and Sonia Osman (sosman@kychamber.com) for more information. Let’s make Kentucky a healthier place.

    3 Part Series - Session 3

R U OK? Addressing Mental Health in the Workplace

Presented by: Ashley McCarty & Sonia Osman
Business Liaisons with the KY Chamber's Workforce Center

According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 45% of people with an addiction also have a co-occurring mental health disorder.

As a Kentucky business, does your culture reduce stigma and empower your employees to have conversations surrounding mental health and substance use disorder?

Please join us for part 3 of a 3 part series! The Kentucky Chamber Workforce Center has created a To Disclose or Not to Disclose training session for business leadership teams. The training will assist in how to name, normalize, and navigate mental health and substance use disorder in the workplace. It will give leaders a baseline knowledge of tools they can use during difficult conversations and actions they can take to reduce stigma surrounding this topic.

This training is at no cost to employers. Please contact Business Liaisons Ashley McCarty (amccarty@kychamber.com) and Sonia Osman (sosman@kychamber.com) for more information. Let’s make Kentucky a healthier place.
